Development of the branding for Destination Escape
and website programming

 

In Destination Escape, 4 players go on an adventure through 8 destinations in Switzerland. On their epic journey, they face a variety of challenges, solve tricky puzzles and take part in daring activities to win a great treasure at the end.

The challenge in branding Destination Escape was to combine excitement, mystery and a connection to tourism. The branding and the associated website were designed to guide users through the world of escape games in Switzerland and give them the opportunity to discover small, hidden details.

 

Optimal display of images and content on all devices

Responsive webdesign

Destination Escape is an entertainment series that releases a new episode every week on Amazon Prime and YouTube. The show's participants are joined by four personalities from the influencer scene, each of whom has a strong online community. The users are therefore mainly on mobile devices. For this reason, the website had to ensure that the content offered the same entertainment and information factor on all devices.

Headlines in the form of numerical codes

Hidden messages

The headlines of the website were integrated as animated numerical code. After a few seconds, the animation of numbers and letters deciphers into a readable headline. Individual topics are highlighted with three terms.

Key data becomes secret information

The most important aspects of the project were visually and interactively presented by pixelated pictograms. Users can discover information by mouseover and independently link information with abstract icons that are reminiscent of the aesthetics of video games.

Illustration of the interactive map

The centrepiece of the website is an interactive map of the Swiss cantons. This shows the route that the protagonists travel across Switzerland. It also serves as the link between two worlds: that of the reality show and that of tourism. Clicking on a canton opens a pixelated image of the destination that can be seen in the reality show.

 

Every location can be discovered with a picture gallery. This promotes the location to tourists and brings it to a wider audience. The special detail: the colourful tiles change colour again and again.

Individual destinations as icons

Secret route highlights

The illustrated destinations are a particular highlight of the map. Each highlight of the journey has been represented with an individual icon. They provide clues to the challenges in the course of the series.

As A1 poster and billboard

Poster design

A poster was designed for the big sneak preview to mark the start of the series. The participants in focus, with an impressive Swiss panorama. The poster was also realised as a billboard for the event.
